I knew eVGA planned on entering the motherboard industry, but I assumed they'd do so at least with nForce4. I know mfr.'s like Asus and MSI are still putting out s754 boards, but they're doing so to give s754 owners an upgrade path to PCIe (i.e. putting out nF4 std. s754 boards). I don't know if this really makes sense strategically, unless they've had the board in the works for a while. Opinions?

It looks pretty good to me, I wish it was out last year when I bought my Soltek board.

Ordered one- was shipped today. I presently have a DFI Nforce3 LanParty 250Gb. Lots of bios options which I have no idea what to do with. I like eVGA- I have an eVGA Geforce 6800GT. Great support and a very good company. Not much of an upgrade for me, but I'm looking forward to it. Look for my DFI board on the FS section of the forums early next week.

The EVGA board has like NO extra features:
-No Firewire
-ONLY 2 DIMMS!
-Only 800MHz Hypertranport
-Crappy audio.

To conlude my review buy an MSI K8N Neo Platinum

The EVGA item has a very attractive price for the feature it offers. Msrp is only $99

I bought an MSI Board once- and never again. The board wouldn't post with Mushkin RAM, but it would with generic. Needless to say, I bought a different board.

Many NF3-250Gb boards come with only 2 DIMM slots. That's not a detraction against the eVGA board at all. And they all share crappy onboard audio codecs. And many don't have onboard firewire either. My Soltek K8AN2E-GR has all the same "flaws" as this one and it is still an awesome board.

In bold = MSI K8N Neo.

For anyone shopping for a problem-free socket 754 nForce3 board I would recommend something different than the MSI K8N Neo Platinum.
