"Well, housing prices are going up because rich people from California and Seattle are buying vacation houses or want to retire."

This is in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. My parents are just looking for a place to live. Any suggestions as to some areas that aren't skyrocketing in price?

In northern washington theres cool places of land for dirt cheap. My dad bought one for 60k had a 2 bd farmhouse 10+ acres and a stream.
