i was at the mall with my rents and they asked me what i wanted for xmas and i said a ps2 console...so they said to go pick one out. i go to ebgames, gamestop, fye, and sears...are all sold out. so i drive to target and kmart...same story. i asked the guys at a few of the stores and apparently they have been sold out for a few weeks and none of them are expecting a new shipment until 2005...

does sony not like making money or something?

Because clearly, if Sony is selling out all of their shipments of a four year old system, they aren't making any money.

They're not gonna rush making 1 PS2s for you, or 10, or 100, or even 1000. They're making them by HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS if not millions and shipping them out. It's called mass production.

I pulled one of those new slimline ones off a truck today at Circuit city.

Probably more than just that one on the truck, there were probably a few in the totes.

This was my first day back at the warehouse. Didn't check our stocks of PS2s, but we have XBoxes piled high. Call around.

Sony is having issues getting consoles to the US. Also, there are tons on ebay and Amazon private sellers. That is where a large number have ended up. Need to find out when your local stores get deliveries. I walked into a Walmart on a Sunday morning a couple of weeks ago on a hunch and the truck had just delivered two.

Is this the slim or the regular? if they're selling out of the regular, well that's pathetic. The things are four years old.

I have not seen the big one anywhere. I think those must have been pulled off the shelf when the new one came out.

Two? I thought they were distributed in packs of ten.

Edit: And I, too, am waiting for a PS2 or PSTwo to come into stock somewhere. I'm just going to wait until Newegg has it, I've had enough of everyon else.

I got my PS2 still 😀

The one I since 10 weeks after launch died about 3 months ago and I got another one.

The Sony do have the consoles but there is a problem with the shipping. Last I heard they had a problem with the ship that the consoles are on so everyone is shafted. They have plenty of stocks but if something happens to the ship that transports it about then they you can't do much about that.

wtf are you talking about- he was making the point that sony obviously isnt making hundreds of thousands, because not a single store had one.
