Everytime i try to patch Unreal Tournament i get errors! It always says wrong version of botpack.u,
I intsalled the no-cd patch, is that what is messing it up?
 
also the no-cd hatch genrally just replaces the unrealtournament.exe with a different one... which doesn't check for the cd🙂
 
maybe your CD is scratched? Out of Hard drive space? Run scandisk maybe your file is corrupted. Make sure to manually delete the UnrealTournament directory once uninstalling it before reinstalling it!
 
It says invalid botpack.u, could it be that myne is difrent or curupted?
I have the cd, but could i buy a burned copy of it from one of u guys? a more recent one then my version 400 ithink.
 
No no no no no. This is a known problem with Creative Labs version of the game (and also some japanese versions). Straight from the Unreal Tournament page.

Its much larger (33 MB vs. 7.2 MB), and is intended for people having problems installing the normal patch - in particular customers with the Japanese version of UT or the 428 version bundled with certain Creative Labs products, or customers who get errors when trying to install a patch along the lines of : &quot;The file system\botpack.u from the CD-ROM is not the expected version. Therefore, Unreal Tournament can't be patched.&quot; >>



You can get the &quot;no delta&quot; patch that fixes this problem (and has built in no-cd check) here.
 
Man, how did i miss that???

I ended up burning my friends copy and never using my legit version
