Everytime I try to install a Antivirus the computer restarts...

When I originally tried to run AVG while it was running the computer restarted, and then it continuously restarted after that. Then when I thought everything was all good I installed kaspersky and it instantly restarted again.

Why is this? Did it trigger a virus?

Interesting.

1) Download this text file, and download the manual McAfee scan tool I mention in there. Unzip it as instructed but don't scan yet.

2) Disable System Restore.

3) Reboot into Safe Mode, click Start > Run, and paste the command into the box to start the scanner. This scanner doesn't protect in real time and doesn't "install," it just runs and outputs a C:\Report.html with the results.

4) If it found stuff and killed it, now try installing Kaspersky again after it ran interference for you.

Trying that right now...we'll see what we get.
