Everything we do in life we do for sex. Millionaires pounding through 100-hour work weeks, social workers dishing out turkey dinners, writers writing magazine articles; almost nothing has been done in the history of man where there isn?t a background hope of, ?I might get laid.?

-ski press article

True or not? i think when it comes down to it... true.

It might be true in a majority of cases, but what about people who can't have sex or don't want it? Yeah, I win!

It's like that one Futurama show where society crumbled because everyone had sex with their robots

Yes that is pretty much true. But I think the drive to dominant and the need for approval have a lot to do with what people do.

I'm not sure if I like Britney Spears music only because she's attractive.

It's pretty much true from the biological standpoint. The only point of any organism's life is to have sex and propogate the species. All evolutionary advances are for the purpose of living long enough to reach the reproductive age. It's been this way for about 600 million years why wouldn't it be this way now?

This thread is ripe for some self righteous person to come in and start saying that he does everything for his own personal satisfaction and that sex is the last thing on his mind. Then he will claim to be a 25 year old virgin, who has been propositioned many tiems to have sex, but he is waiting for the right person. Yeah, as if the 25 year old virgin dude would even know what to do if he decided to have sex.

1) The Ladder theory says we do things to move up ladders (which leads to sex)
2) Buddhist monks don't become monks for sex. And other religious people also should not have sex (priests for one, even though some do), thus they don't become prists for sex.

The meaning of life is basically reproduction, and while it is possible to reproduce without having "sex" (IVF etc), it's still the main method used, so yeah, in a way everything we do do is for sex, because it's one of the most basic instincts, and the way to ensure our genes are passed on, as with every other animal.
