Does it matter which slot my GPU is? It's actually in the farther slot from my CPU because it takes up a lot of space.make shure your video card is in the pcie slot closest to the cpu..i just looked at your cpu pcie lanes 1X16> 2X8 1X8/2x4 um oh ok let me get another coffe ..
do you have "ccleaner" loaded..this is the only known tool i know that will clean windows registry https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
sorry but i have never used chrome..and unless it is absolutely imperative that i have to install it i never will .. but that is besides the point..did you build this machine or buy it complete built um as for the vid card closest slot to cpu is preferred it will run in any slot but from exp i have know this to be a matter of opinion hmm i would say you need to set up you machine again and go into the bios and enable you storage to run your ssd`s in ahci mode..this may be the problem in the first place...um your going to need a little extra help here ..if any body has a known software fix for this machine any help would be app...you dont really know you way around your bios ..ok i am going to get you a utube link if i can find one..bear with me ...it may be you need to uninstall chrome and firefox ..and start with that reinstall fire fox and chrome this may well be a good start while i think about and find you a vid to watch about your bios..phasse...
Kind of all over the place, aren't we phasseshifter?
Hi nanodice (nice parts, btw), I want to make sure we are clear on the memory placement. According to your manual, 2 sticks of memory should be in slots DDR3_1 and DDR3_2.
Now, I can't answer all the questions phasseshifter raised (if you are considering them), but you can put your video card in either slot.
Do me a favor if you haven't already - run a memtest for each stick in slot DDR3_1 and tell me what errors you are seeing. I am not sure if this is the same slot you were referring to as 1 in your earlier post.

Thank you! As you can probably imagine, I'm getting quite a bit desperate here, haha..
Does it really matter what slot the memory is in? I'm currently running the "good" ram with memtest in slot 2. It's been 1.5 hours without errors. Should I stop it and run in slot 1?
It matters because there are two different channels. Yes, motherboards have become a little more picky than they used to be. Using slots DDR3_1 and DDR3_2 will be your best bet here.
I can't answer about your duration because I don't know what it took to pull up your problems before.
Also remember that once the memory is in the correct slots, there could still be errors in the data on your drive. So, you may need to:
run sfc
reinstall some programs, or just
reinstall Windows
to get rid of files that were damaged with the earlier memory issues.
Thank you. Do you think I should reboot windows with the RAM in slot 1 or 2 and reinstall chrome and the game i previously used to test just to see if it still crashes?
The last time I encountered an error was around the 1.5 hour mark. That was for the other ram stick that's not currently in my computer and testing.
Those temps are pretty high for water and doing nothing more than starting a browser. You might want to check your cooler connections. There are some good youtube videos on installing those. If you need to, take the cooler off, use some new thermal paste, and try again.
I've actually applied new thermal paste yesterday :/
