Everyone that thinks that Opera r0x0rs cuz of mouse gestures....

Mozilla is great, but feels too bloated IMO. And I hate having to wait for my browser to load with a splash screen. Its why I use Phoenix - the compatability of mozilla/IE, but the speed of opera

I'll be fine as long as Microsoft is prohibited to do it.

I'm certain that you can't "patent" or copyright mouse gestures.. many other programs use them too.. maya comes to mind..

I haven't tried phoenix yet.... is it buggy?

<--- currently using mozilla 1.3a unstable 😛

I don't like mouse gestures. While reading things, I do alot of random selecting of text and other random things with the mouse, mouse gestures just interpret it as a gesture and do whacky things which just piss me off.

Yep, and yep.

I know you can tell it to use either mouse button, but left button interferes with text selection, and right button interferes with the menu. specifying alt or control just makes it as much "work" as the keyboard shortcuts I use. alt+left/right is pretty easy, pgup pgdn, control+L, home/end, I even have mozilla set to scroll with H/J/K/L like vi 😀

No can do, I use that for pasting text, pasting links, and clicking to open new tabs.

Edit: also, if I accidentally press the middle button, I drag it around a bit and then release to cancel out the paste/click.

How does it interfere with the menu? If you need the menu just right click without moving the mouse.

he probably likes to draw a heart or something before releasing the right click.

Something like that. I do lots of odd fidgety things with the mouse while reading things, not sure why, I'm normally not a fidgety person, I just am with a mouse (I also tend to click around in terminals, selecting text, for no good reason, while reading things, or whatever).

I tried Opera the other day and it made me want to go berserk...so freaking slow and messed up. Worst browser...ever.

I haven't tried the mouse gestures yet. How do you set it up?

In Opera? Just use one for the first time. For instance, hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse left. A box will pop up asking if you want to continue using mouse gestures. Click yes and you can use mouse gestures anytime you want.

BTW, you can go back by holding down the right mouse button and clicking the left mouse button, no moving required 🙂
