Im in trouble lol.. i got 3 computers brought in from customers this week... all the same kind, Compaq's

All 3 were brought in by different people and they said "it wont turn on"

So i immediatly assume its the PSU.. obviously.

So i take the psu out and replace it with mine.. it turns on.. but there is errors and BSOD's when starting up... on one of them the cpu says its 5.2ghz lol....

So i put in my hard drive with XP installed to test it... still wont boot.

-------------------------------------
so far the psu is bad and the hard drives are good..
-------------------------------------

so i trade the memory with new sticks and i still get the errors or no boot.

so i disconnect everything besides the psu, cpu and mobo...

NO BOOT... ERRORS...

So i tell the cusotmers they need new mobos... the mobos get in and i still cant get it to boot... so whats left?

THE CPU.... i have a cpu that works here.... socket 462 and i test it in all 3 pcs...

it boots partly into windows loading screen and a reall fast BSOD flashes and reboots.

What do i do? Im going to lose these 3 custromers and their word of mouth.. it will hurt my business... but what else can this be?

I ordered them each a new PSU, MOBO... do i really need to order 3 new CPUS?
3 exact same problems with these computers?

o man... 🙁

did you check with compaq or search for a forum for compaq users that you might glean some info from. the problems you describe are way out of my league but three compaqs from three different people with the same problem sounds like a hardware issue. hopefully one of the wizards that live here will chime in soon with the answer you seek.

im such a ****** idiot ... i think my whole problem was the mobo drivers ... the emachines hard drives were installed for those motherboards... i think if i reinstall xp with the right drivers ill be all set 🙂
