What does it show up on your statement as. Because even though i live in the UK, i had some iffy transactions on my account, and one of them was a donation to the US for $3 😕

haha damn staight you pay your $3 a year tax to the US..

lol, but it actually showed up on the statement as "Donation to the US", weird. I dont have time to follow this up so i'll just leave it. I'll let you Americans have my $3 dollars worth of pounds.

How did the Red Cross get your bank account information?

I'm sure it's from one of the checks I had written to them in the past.
you wrote them a paper check and you think they took your account number off that and sought to pilfer your checking account?

Something does not compute with this story.

I agree. The only time Red Cross has received any type of bank media from me was in the form of a paper check. I don't know how they could charge me again without my knowledge.
this story is very fishy. there is *NO WAY* they got your account number off your check and got a 5 buck donation from you.

call the bank/call the Red Cross. that will clear this up.

Did you file US income taxes?

:| I've talked to alot of people that are having the same problem. The charges were made on 7/10 or 7/11. These particular charges show as a $5.00 donation to the Red Cross. Just a heads up to my fellow ATOTers.

Maybe next time, you'll give blood.

Hahahahaha

Blood or money, no one is safe.

Did you eat out recently? A lot of restaurants have Katrina Relief and other donation fields above the tip line. Maybe you accidentally wrote your tip on that line?

Oh poor baby, did they drain your bank account?

It would have been funny if you just asked if it drained the account. The patronizing "Oh poor baby" made it insulting.

It is unauthorised...
today it could be $5... tomorrow $5000

Yeah no shat, a similar thing happened to my paypal account. The bastard first took out 500 then turned around and charged 5000 to it!

If this was an electronic transaction run down to the bank and stop payment on it like I did when I ALMOST got boned by a Paypal haker.

I guess you like people going into your bank account without your permission. If that's the case give me your bank account number. I'm sure you will not mind.

DEAR LORD I MADE A JOKE. For the 50th time, I understand the seriousness of unauthorized withdrawls, but I was making a JOKE. Christ.

Wasn't funny, jackass.

Why is there *NO WAY*? Every bank prints the account number on the bottom of the checks that they give you, as well as the routing number for the bank. There is certainly a way...

The Red Cross never got my account info. Nothing I've ever done w/ the red cross has involved any banking/credit/money info.

Strange...I woke up this morning lightheaded with a bandaid on the inside of my elbow and some orange juice and a cookie by my bed....

Have you ever used your debit card online? Maybe this was a way for someone who stole your debit card number to see if it worked.
