I have been reading practice interview questions all week, and I want to get additional questions.

Im applying for a internal position in my company -- supervisor role. I will lead a team of 8 in a call center enviornment, and the role of the supervisor involves approving employees work, coaching, mentoring, and develping.

I know for a fact that most of the interview questions will be fairly straright forward, and work related(none of that "what book are you reading" type questions), but will focus on 'leadership' qualities.

questions will mostly be 'behavior based(give specific example), and 'listing' type(list 3 adjectives that describe a great leader, etc etc).

thanks for anyone that can help.

What would you do if one of your employees complained to you about a company policy that you yourself have complained about, but were told was not going to change?

why should I hire you?

i.e. why do you want this job & what do you bring to the table

What's your biggest weakness and what have you done to work on it?

What would your friends say about you?

What would you do if you caught a employee cheating/doing something illegal/whatever bad stuff?

would you have sex in the champagne room?

If a bear walks one mile south, turns left and walks one mile to the east and then turns left again and walks one mile north and arrives at its original position, what is the color of the bear.

Given a rectangular cake with a rectangular piece removed (any size or orientation), how would you cut the remainder of the cake into two equal halves with one straight cut of a knife?

I have 2 coins in my pocket worth 30 cents. One of the coins is not a quarter. What coins do I have?

Hah, that's pretty funny. Have you actually been asked that?

Give me an example of when you showed leadership.

Give me an example of when you showed good teamworkmanship.

Give me an example of when someone asked you to do something dishonest, and what did you do.

Give me an example of how you prepared for this interview.

I heard the joke/riddle when I was a kid and I was reminded of it recently when I was watching scrubs

Hint: the answer is not that you asked random people on the internet for advice.

thanks all. keep it coming.

question:

with all the 'give me an example of...' type of questions, if I absolutely do not have an example because I have not been exposed to a certain situation, is it appropriate to say "If I were in that situation, I would do...."

I mean, I dont want to do too many of those, but I"m worried that it might happen. Any other alternative ways?

Have you ever not complied with the instructions of a supervisor? If so, please elaborate.

I thought of a couple more. It's late, so they might not make sense:

-Job-specific details aside, what does a manager do?
-You have two employees applying for a position. Bob is young, brash, and is smart, but lacks experience. Tim is older, plays more by the book, but is meeker. How would you tell each of them that they didn't get the job?
-Your manager has made poor decisions that result in your employees having to work for the next four weekends. They complain about this. What do you tell them?

1. "If you stayed with your current company, what would be your next move?"
2. "What makes you stand out from others?"
3. "Tell me your greatest accomplishment."
4. "Give me an example of a time when you took the time to share a co-worker's achievement with others."
5. "How many hours a week do you need to work to get your job done?"
6. "Do you take enough time to make a decision?"

I was actually asked this question in the interview for the job I have now. I'd never heard it before, and the interviewer was surprised that I got it right without hesitation.

any size in the question makes this problem flawed.
