I've had nothing but bad experiences with this board. The first time, I got all my components working and I cant get the agp slot working. Works fine with pci slot for video. So i got an RMA, said screw it, i have a gf2 ultra and no pci card and i cant just keep borrowing my friends pci card. So here i am with my rma today and well well, now NOTHING works. It powers on, all the fans turn on but theres no video and no semblence of intelligence. At least last time when there was no video, i got lights on my keyboard. Not even that now. So.. im just sitting here going WTF. I didnt change any other components since the last time it worked. Anybody know whats wrong? Aside from the possibility that the cpu is fux0red because i want to check that as a last resort as it involves removal of thermal pad which means i need to get a new one.

I helped my friend setting up Athlon XP 1600 with Shuttle AK 31 rev 3.1 and it worked fine without any problem at all. Did you try to use the PCI video card and flash the latest bios?

Darno

edit: could it be your AGP video card? Did you try another AGP video card?

Could you explain this: "Works fine with pci slot for video." in relation to this: "At least last time when there was no video, i got lights on my keyboard."

When you say these two things, do you mean that it booted and ran fine with the PCI video card or that you got "lights on my keyboard"?

Are you getting any beeps from the motherboard? If it's just spinning up the fans, there might be a problem with the CPU or motherboard. You RMA'd the mobo right...not the video card?

Yea. I RMA'd the mobo. Now i have both a gf2 ultra (elsa) and a gf3 ti 200 (visiontek). Both do not work in this board. I didnt really have a different agp card i could test earlier and I wasnt expecting another one so I just said, even if it works with someone elses card, it doesnt work with mine so im just going to RMA it. When I say about earlier, even w/o video from AGP, i could still see that stuff was working. Like my hard drive would work as if it were loading windows, like i said, the keyboard numlock stuff i could toggle and the buttons lit up like that, and finally, the lights on my lan card lit up and my router recognized my system. Now none of that happens. I dont even get any lights on my keyboard, i tried the lan card, no lights there either, and my hard drive boots up whirs for a second and just stops. my old mobo is gone so i dont really need a solution to that problem. Im just using that as a basis to assume that my parts should be fine (not necessarily that they are but there shouldnt be a problem)

Umm You can try clearing the CMOS, by unplugging the power cable from ur motherboard, then setting the jumper to clear, then setting it back to normal, then connect power cable and power up the system. Sounds like youf just a lucky person to get 2 RMA's in a row, lets see if you can go for 3.:D O, wellz, mines is up and running fine, I built three systesm with that board and had no probs.

Did you make sure the CMOS clear jumper is set in the right position. One time I forgot to put it back on the correct 2 pins and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the thing. I ended up disassembling a large part of my computer until I figured that out.:)

fawhfe,

Check the jumpers like the others have said. There's really only the CMOS clear and the CMOS write-protect so after checking JP2 and 5, reseat your DIMMS and your AGP card. It took me three tries to finally get mine in, and you should hear a good "click" sound. Also, make sure all your cables are well seated and in proper alignment in your IDE/floppy controller slots. Any beeps from the mobo?
