So this kid rapper puts this song out and he's making a mint while talented classical and jazz musicians are starving to death.

I guess life isn't fair.

:frown:

Everybody should know by now that the only way to make money off of a product is to appeal to those with money.

Sadly, a lot of people with money are idiots. Or in this case, if you get enough idiots together in a group they'll have some money.

Viper GTS

But do any famous Jazz artists correctly pronounce the word "everybody" (phonetically: eeeeeeerbody)?

HUH? DO THEY?!?!

Oh it happens in other fields as well. Why do sports figures make ungodly amounts of money while scientist make squat. Really thoguh... Who is going to have a bigger impact on our lives? A scientist who finds the cure for cancer or the Lakers when they win another championship?

I like sports and pro athletes have more talent then all of us combined but I don't think Shaq is worth 100 mil for putting a ball into the net. I guess he's able to draw the people into the stadiums so he should be paid accordingly .

All you have to do is make a product that can be mass marketed to kids who generally purchase whatever MTV tells them to.

That is also the only plausible explanation for 50 Cent.

Whether or not someone deserves wealth has nothing to do with social impact, and the Dr. who does find a cure for cancer would make more bank than Shaq - for the company who paid him a salary for years to develop the technology.

I say ATOT should launch their own rap group, we'll mispronounce common everyday words and brag about all the jewelry own. We'll make a fortune.

aite, i'll start ...

yo yo yo ... my gun goes click and spark, dont leave witnesses to point me out on 1-0-6 the park

dont hate on the song.

yes the words are stupid, and yes it takes no lyrical talent to make this song. but why is it succesful and why do people like it? Because it has a very good beat and gets the party goin.

Whenever I hear this song when I go out (and i'm 22 so I go to 21+ places pretty much only), everyone on the dance floor gets excited and the party starts jumping. It is a very catchy song and has a good effect on the party crowd.

As for comparing rap to jazz, thats like comparing apples to oranges. Except, that it seems to me, that this rapper is bringing in more money than any jazz musicians out there, and I'm just saying that because its exposed to the public more ... ie, more commercial.

I do not care if I get flamed for this or not, but i personally believe it is MUCH harder to be a professional athlete than it is to be a doctor. Why do you think there are so much more doctors in the world than professional athletes? And who plays 'doctor' for fun, not the 1000's of kids playing basketball for fun.

To be an athlete you have to be training from when you were younger than 10 years old, and continue to do so as you grow up. To be a doctor, you can start training when you get into college at the age of 18 or whatever. If you are a professional athlete, by the time you are 18, you pretty much know you are going to be a professional athlete, taking about 10 or 12 years or more already to train for that.

And not just anyone can pick up and be a professional football player at any given time. Anyone can decide at any time though to start hittin the books and become a doctor or scientist, at any time in their life.

Also, athletes bring in MUCH MUCH more money than doctors do. They are also more entertaining to the public eye. Thats just the way the world works, get over it.

Dunno what your schooling was like; but where I grew up "any 18 year old" CANNOT be a doctor.
