Every wish you were a polyglot?

Like those (few) people that are fluent in 15 languages and can pick more others really quickly. I think it'd be really cool.

I work with someone that can speak 7 different languages.

He's a facinating fellow... good for stories at the bar after work, since he's lived in several different countries etc.

I know some French...but I haven't used it much since high school.

Dude, you're not even a monoglot.

It's "Ever wish..." not "Every wish...".

*weeps for the future*

😱

I'm a busy Mobile Professional who has no time for spelling 😉

I'd rather be a polygamist.

If you were a polyglot you could have a wife in every country and not have to worry about it!
Yeah...but at least with polygamy the wives know about each other and know their place.... 😀

It's ok, I just liked using 'monoglot' in a sentence. 😎 I'm easily entertained I guess.

Why? Taht makes it legal?
How would the law work in regards to that?
Are marriages in other countries legally binding in the USA?

I'd settle for being a solid diglot! Biglot? Duoglot? Twoglot?

My Spanish is passable, but nowhere near fluent. I dunno why the retarded US public education system waits until middle school before even thinking about teaching kids a second language. Bilingual public magnet schools in the US often have huge waiting lists. The demand is there! What gives?

My native language is Spanish, my second is English and I can keep a coversation in Italian (my family is from there, even though I was born in Argentina) and Portuguese.

BTW se dice yo hablo Español "e" Ingles, no "y" Ingles, is the same when in english you add a "n" to the "a" to separate two words, like I'm eating an apple.

This is rarely, if ever mentioned in the normal US Spanish class.
Also, I hate the analogy with a vs. an since "a/an" is an article while "and" is a conjunction.
