their bullshit about balanced budgets and small government.

I really, REALLY wish conservative America would wake the hell up and see how their saviors are completely full of shit.

$10,000 for every adult American is about $1.8T.

Give Americans money to pay off debt, make durable good/service purchases, etc.

The money still goes to banks and corporations. The fact that people aren't rioting over how we hand banks and corporations money while the people rarely get a sniff of it first is how you can tell most Americans are brain-dead about economics.

This. The looting of America continues while the plebes squabble over social wedge issues and consumerisms.

If we're going to keep handing out corporate welfare we may as well give some to the common folk, since the debt is no longer an issue. Maybe even a year long tax holiday or something similar. We did not get any of the previous stimulus money, normally that would be considered a brag here. However in that time my salary has been reduced to 80%, and the wife's business has taken some lumps so things aren't as rosy and we could actually use the money too. Basing any future stimulus on last year's wages doesn't work for us.

As soon as Biden becomes POTUS you'll start to hear about fiscal responsibility again anyway.

No oversight, Donald just doing as he pleases.
And I am betting these issues are too complicated for the average Trump voter, who failed 6th grade math. So they will continue to violently support a fascist dictator all the way up thru November.
Let's be clear. It's not that the issues are too complicated. It's not even that they don't care.

They actively cheer it on, because they are right-wing authoritarians and their right-wing authority figure is doing it.

It's that simple.

They have been thoroughly conditioned to be in abject fear of the socialists, the liberals, the gays, the "non-whites" such that for many of them, the Second Amendment is their last line of defense not so much against tyranny perpetrated by the gov't, but democracy perpetrated by the gov't.

Authoritarianism is their only recourse toward defeating a democratic form of gov't that has been demographically shifting power away from them. Autocrats like Trump are a perfect fit for their means to an end, of which of course will be quite similar to what we see in Putin's Russia, In Xi's China, in Kim's DPRK. It's practically the only way the Repubs will be able to keep power out of the hands of the growing majority that don't represent their way of thinking.
