Howz' the videocard . . . last i heard you sold your 6600GT and was using something ancient?

now THAT would be a real prob for me. :p
:Q

:D

Got me a beautiful 6800GS, massive hsf so it was idling at 39'C, loading the low 50'Cs, 450/1200 stock

But then last thursday my 380W Truepower (24A on the 12v) dramatically burnt out (not even gaming), cooking my main HDD and who knows what else :( Using a horrible lappy atm :p

lucky . . . and unlucky . . .
;)

i'd be asking "Why me?" :p

:D

lmfao :D

It also took two assigments, about 5000 words worth of work i'd done, that is due tmrw, so i've had a miserable weekend redoing it, managed to recover one file yesteday at least ;)

I don't bother with this 'why me?' crap tho, nothing to be gained from it, just put your head down and fix it...

Currently giving my legal opinion of the decision in Banco de Portugal v. Waterlow and Sons Ltd :p

I think it's really quite simple...

These are indeed "one-in-a-million" things... but think about how many millions of "one-in-a-million" things are out there... Obviously, there's enough to go around so that everyone's bound to get a few from time to time... it's just unlikely that anyone else will share that specific one with you, but there IS enough to go around.

Steve Irwin comes to mind, one in a million and no ones deserved it less considering he loved animals and did all he could to save them.

And to the people who posted you'd have considered ending your life because you forgot to buy a lottery ticket....are you serious? What if you bought it, but the numbers didn't come up that you expected? Whats the difference? You still lost out on millions, the outcome is the same. I realize you had the right numbers, but how has your life changed compared to if you didn't have the right numbers? You're right back where you started. Is it just me that thinks it's ridiculous to consider suicide because you lost the lottery?

What do you think?

I think I won't be banking at BofA anytime soon...

wow, i bank at BOA and that makes me want to close my account. the only reason im not going to is because it wouldnt make any difference and it would be a pain in the a$$, but honestly if it would help prove a point at all id close my account tonight.

Why? BofA acted appropriately in defending one of its customers from a dumbass who took a fraudulent check from someone he didn't know. If that dumbass should be suing anyone, it's the SFPD.

What's with all the philosophical threads lately?

I was thinking of posting a parody thread of this nature.

JEDI has lately posted a lot of threads about some event, or situation, then invited people to discuss.

What do you think?

the SFPD were also morons, but BoA should step up since they could have asked him about it first instead of calling the cops. the guy even asked the bank to verify the check and they did, so i cant honestly put any blame on him since 99% of people would have cashed the check if the teller told them it was legit. basically, my point is that BoA should help the guy out since this was an unfortunate incident and they pretty much screwed the guy.

He asked them to verify funds in the account, not verify the check. Read the article. Then he attempted to cash a fraudulent check on the account. That's a criminal act. He was found innocent solely because he had no criminal intent and he himself was a victim. However, what BofA did was entirely proper and legal. Someone attempted to commit a crime against one of their account holders and they reported such to the police.
Moral of the story: don't take checks from people you don't know, especially not over the internet from someone who lives outside the country.
