WOW! WOW! WOOOOW!

That is what I have to say about everything about that game. I know that I may be a bit 'slow' and others new about the new release of EverQuest, but hey, like they say, better late than never so gimme a brake and let me be happy with my discovery! :D
There is not that much revealed yet (there are only a couple of screen shots on their official website EverQuest2 but after I have read all that there is to read on that page I am very impressed, especially with the system requirenments (sarcastically speaking):

Operating System: Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
Processor: 733 mhz
RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: DirectX 8 compliant. Pixel shader and Vertex shader compatible hardware with 64mb of texture memory (eg: GeForce 3)
Sound Card: DirectSound compatible audio hardware

I am not a huge fan of MMORPGs but they look very interesting to play and it seems we will see more of those types of games in the near future. Worlds of Warcraft is coming out, Sims Online, Phantasy Star Online, Star Wars to name a view. Already we have games such as EverQuest, Asheron's Call, and one of the newer ones Dark Age of Camelot. It seems to me like you need lots of time to get somewhere or to gain levels. Now, I never played those games so I woudn't know, but is it hard? How much time do you have to spend and how is it like playing those 'real-time' online games where the world never 'sleeps'? Is the monthly fee worth it, and if you get bored how to you terminate your account? I love to play Diablo 2 and although it is very linear it is fun. No commitments, no fee, no headaches, just hacking and slashing. I am looking for a more 'mature' game play in the future. A game that I can always play with people without being dependent on my friends/relatives to play with. Something where I can do things the way I want to do them, explore and play the game the way I want , etc. Is that how you can play those MMORPGs? You have the freedom to do whatever you desire? I've looked through many MMOPRGs (on 'paper') but I have never played one (like I said b4). Dark Age of Camelot looks nice, but the graphics are a bit 'blocky', Asheron's Call and EverQuest are bit old now and Worlds of Warcraft are not yet out and Sims Online don't appeal to me not even a bit. Although WofW is most appealing to me, EverQuest2 looks more advanced and 'mature' to play, and it seems like there are more things to do. Here are some of the game features from the official website:

· A brand new 3D engine which takes full advantage of a wide variety of recent technological advances in 3D hardware/software such as per pixel lighting, dynamic environment mapping, and a fully programmable surface shader system
· More intuitive gameplay features appeal to both new and seasoned players
· New branching class structure that players define as they advance through the game
· Vast world of Norrath revisits familiar locations and introduces a variety of newly discovered areas in the Age of Destiny, a time period in the future of the original EverQuest.
· Increased character customization capabilities allow players to customize characters' faces, hair, and body types to create truly unique avatars
· Deeper character development offering pacing options that cater to game players new to the role-playing genre as well as experienced role-players
· Non-confrontational means of character advancement that include a completely new tradesman character class
· Mounts and vehicles that you can ride and control, including horses and boats, make traversing the massive world of Norrath faster than before
· Norrathian real estate for players to call their own
· All-new trade skill/crafting system
· Completely new and tactically rich combat, spell and skill systems
· A completely revised and enhanced quest system
· Dynamic world environment shaped by player events

I don't know about you, but this games looks like lots of fun and definately worth picking up if you never played any MMORPG before! How do you like the MMORPG genre and what do you have to say about it?

Share your thought with the rest of us.
Later.

I just want to know what i'm going to be able to do with my old characters from the first everquest that I've been playing for 3 years now. If I can't port them over to EQ2, then i'm done.
