I'll call BS on that- why release a new game on an outdated platform. When Eq2 was released, there were no pc's even able to play it at max settings so assuming they do the same with Eq Next, it's doubtful the Ps3 would even meet the minimum requirements.
As far as that goes, for me personally, graphics hit the "no need to exceed" point within the last few years. I just want to see therefore a carbon copy of EQ1 with graphics that are updated compared to EQ 1999, but they don't need to be 2012 cutting edge that will require GTX 580 SLI to run well.
Carbon copy doesn't mean the same zones and the NPCs all say the same things and classes are exactly the same, rather, it means that the game's complexity and difficulty are mostly the same. That means that if a max tradeskill is 300, once you get past 100 skillups don't happen every combine. That means you MUST group at higher levels or be forced to solo easier mobs for a much slower experience gain. right down to the need to type to interact with NPCs.
Don't want another casualized WoW clone.
