System 1 can't run it unless you up the memory to MINIMUM 512.

System 2 will run it just fine.

when i play everquest 2, i run it at 1280x104 at onestep above balace, i think it called high quality. yeah try like 1024x768 at balce setting, if it a little laggy, go down one step.

You might be able to scratch 1024 balanced with that 2nd system. Otherwise high performance/1280x1024 will yield decent framerates

EQ2 auto settings go:

Extreme Quality (only $5,000 rigs are able to see this setting - and even they would struggle i think)
Very High Quality (a 7800 sli system with 2gb ram is probably capable of this at 1280x1024)
High Quality (single 7800gtx, even the 512mb version, struggle at this setting with some aa/af @ 1600x1200. They are prob. capable at lower res though.)
Balanced (your 2nd rig maybe @ 1024 with no aa and minimum af)
High Performance (a 9800pro/1gb/axp3000+ runs fairly smoothly 1024 at this setting)
Very High Performance
Extreme Performance (not worth it, appalling quality)

hardocp includes eq2 in their gpu reviews/previews, fyi.

It's best to leave individual settings alone with EQ2, just stick with one of these 7 settings and mess with only the res and aa/af settings.

I noticed a big difference between a 2.2ghz barton and a 1.5ghz thoroughbred with this game. We're talking a whole setting: high perf. vs very high perf.

great info malladine

I think for like extreme quality at like 1600x1200, you moat likely need 2gb ram 7800gtx 512mb sli cards.

I've found them to be pretty accurate. Check the FPS they're getting and the specs on the test system.
