EQ2 auto settings go:
Extreme Quality (only $5,000 rigs are able to see this setting - and even they would struggle i think)
Very High Quality (a 7800 sli system with 2gb ram is probably capable of this at 1280x1024)
High Quality (single 7800gtx, even the 512mb version, struggle at this setting with some aa/af @ 1600x1200. They are prob. capable at lower res though.)
Balanced (your 2nd rig maybe @ 1024 with no aa and minimum af)
High Performance (a 9800pro/1gb/axp3000+ runs fairly smoothly 1024 at this setting)
Very High Performance
Extreme Performance (not worth it, appalling quality)
hardocp includes eq2 in their gpu reviews/previews, fyi.
It's best to leave individual settings alone with EQ2, just stick with one of these 7 settings and mess with only the res and aa/af settings.
I noticed a big difference between a 2.2ghz barton and a 1.5ghz thoroughbred with this game. We're talking a whole setting: high perf. vs very high perf.
