Everquest 2 versus Guild Wars

I enjoyed EverQuest 2 more than Guild Wars, but i did not play EQ2 for more than a couple of months and i am only on my 2nd day of Guild Wars. So far, i prefer EQ2, but EQ2 still is nothing compared to pre Honor System WoW. But yes, Guild Wars does feel like a 3D diablo II, although Diablo II is a better game than this so far.

I'd guess most WOW players probably look down most on EQ2. I've only played one MMORPG seriously (Asheron's Call 1), but I basically got the feel that it was Everquest versus all the other MMORPGs.

GW isn't a true MMO and should not be compared to either EQ2 or WoW. It shares more in kind with Diablo and Dungeon Siege.

im comparing the fun factor, not features, etc.

I have played Guild wars and it totally doesn't give me the same feeling Diablo II did...
The competition (leveling your char to be #1 on ladder).. The duels... 4v4 NK, Talking smack, Body Pops, Gold everywhere, Ears everywhere.. replaced with some 'clean pk' system. The skills... Whirlwind + Guided Arrow + Frozen Orb > Any guild wars skills... The creepy feeling when you're in the Chaos Sanctuary for the first time... The chat rooms, clans, and trading channels are way better IMO than just a huge World where you have to go around and find places.

They made the whole world so big you don't even know where you're headed to and it's sort of confusing. Bottom line is... Guild Wars isn't close to D2.

I've played both... i gave up on GW a couple of weeks ago at level 16 (after only playing 2 weeks)... i'll return to it eventually, just to finish the story, because it is quite engaging... but man, is everything so repetitive in that game (hate having to run through the same zones over and over to do different quests)
