Didn't have time to confirm it but my son sais he downloaded it and was plaing it for free. Only restriction was there only 4 class to choose from.
Can't say if there was anything else lioke zones.
From what I rember though unless you have a lot of time to devote to the game it may not be for you, it turned into a more of a hardcore game were every one had to trust each other and that they new there class and do to the exp lost and so forth if you died.
