specs seem decent. the proc is a little on the low side. what would you mainly be using the laptop for?

Light gaming, neffing and watching a few movied wile on the go.

I read on another forum that its a piece of cake to drop a new proc in. Also they said that with a little work you could drop a new video card in too.

processor, yes. and yes some video cards can be upgraded too... but generally its more trouble than its worth. roughly to the tune of $400 or so. most laptops are built specifically for the gpu they already have. something more powerful would generate more heat and might have unforeseen negative effects on the laptop.

True. Another 180+ will get me a tl52 at 1.8GHZ, The guy that upgraded his video has had his laptop running for over a month or two now and no problems so far. Also You can add a second HD. 🙂
