I'm looking to get this for my wife. For general email searching the web and chatting on the net....

Anybody familure with this company.

The Via processor is about half the speed of an intel or AMD but should be OK for light use.

I'm worried about only a 3-month warranty and +$116 to add a year. You really need a warranty for laptops since you can't fix most parts yourself.

512MB RAM is a bit low for Vista.

I'd consider getting a $450-499 brand new laptop with 1-year warranty, 1GB RAM, and intel or AMD CPU instead.
