Everest Displaying Incorrect Memory Timings?

Dolorous Dave

In Everest my memory is showing up as being rated 5-5-5-15 @ 400Mhz under the Motherboard/SPD section. I've changed the timings to 4-4-4-12 in my BIOS and it reads that correctly under the Chipset section of Everest...

The sticker on my GSkill RAM says 4-4-4-12 at 1.9-2.0V, so I'm assuming it's safe to run at those speeds. Does Everest just assume that most RAM is rated to run 5-5-5-15 at 400Mhz?

It is probably not interpreting the data it is receiving correctly. As long as the timings are correct in the BIOS you should be OK. I had memtest86 v1.65 report back the wrong FSB and timings before and the results were still valid(the memory passed all tests and the system was stable).
