That guy's an idiot. Power outages aren't caused by snow. Nothing like causing unneeded fear & panic.

Power outages are caused by snow. When trees become heavy with snow the branches break and fall on the power lines.
Trust me on this. I live in Vermont.

The weather people here in FL don't act like that even when Category 4 and 5 hurricanes are approaching.

1. That is a Baltimore station, not DC. Baltimore != DC
2. There are over 65,000 folks without power just in Northern Virginia. Maybe you should go tell them that snow doesn't cause power outages.

Theres this thing called the SuperBowl, you may have heard of it.
I think I overheard someone mention it in a doctors office a couple years back.

That's not why. People around here are retards, and they'll clean out a store at the smallest hint of a snow storm. I've never been "snowed in" longer than 3 days, and that was by choice. I just didn't feel like going out and shoveling. For a legitimate snow in, I don't think it's been longer than 24 hours.

I would stop and ask someone at walmart or grocery store why they are hoarding things that will probably perish within the next week or so without being used, but I know I'm not going to get an intelligent answer.

HAHAHAHAHA that is awesome. I have never seen this before, so repost appreciated.

It's like Billy Mays and that guy that sells knives on TV giving the weather forecast.

I thought about that the other day when I drove by a store and it was packed. I generally have a case of soup on hand anyways but I thought it would be funny if these people that cleaned the store out lost power and all of the food they bought got spoiled.

My issue is that if the supermarket is closed, I don't have a lot of food left that I like. Plenty of dried, canned stuff like pasta, beans, and tomatoes. Some frozen vegetables. But I just put the last of the fresh meat we had in the crock pot - 2 lbs of pork shoulder.

Could be worse, though. I mean, I live in walking distance of a Safeway, and I'm fairly sure it's open. Some friends of ours are already without power, so we're lucky in that regard.
