Ever wonder what happens to your car after it's totaled/repo'ed?

Ever wonder what happens to your little beuty after the insurance company consideres it "totaled" or the bank repo's your car? Wonder ho more! Check out these two sites. Kinda neat. There's a tabled list of cars in varying states of damage or status (aka repo, used, customer rejected, etc) on the page if you're interested in seeing what they look like or get glimpses of the site where they're stored. Kinda neat. Each page also has a table of abreviations at the bottom of the page for your reference.

Car List 1
Car List 2

Kind of interesting. 🙂 All of the cars that are listed are for sale, most likely to recoup costs for the insurance companies and dealers selling things there. Oh, and don't think you're going ot go there and get a cheap vehicle. You have to be a dealer to bid. So unless you know a dealer you can trust to buy for you, you're kinda stuck. But hey, it's still cool to look. 🙂

If anyone is curious why I did this, I just thought this was neat and I'd pass this along to everyone to have a look at.

Edit: 2nd link fixed.

i'll bet a lot of them go straight across the border, where the work can be done cheaper and it would be worth it to get them fixed. just a guess of course.

Gah! Ok, so I admit. I goofed on the second link. It's fixed now. 🙂

Sorry about your car man. That sucks. It looks like someone kicked it in with their foot or something.

If it makes you feel any better, my only accident was in 1989 when I totaled our family station wagon. I decided for some insane reason to play chicken with a Mac truck and lost. Let's just say there wasn't much left of the car. The amazing part was I didn't have so much as a scratch on me! Can't say so much for the car though. 🙁

Hope they get your car fixed up all nice!

Nuts, nothing of interest on the second page anyway, but thanks.

My car will be fixed up alright. I took it to the most expensive place I could find, in hopes that it would end up totaled. After I found I'd have to keep it, I decided to try and get them to paint the rest of it for a decent price. Yeah, right. $3,400.00! That's what I get for going to a super elite body shop. Never again...
