Well, I'd take the wife and kids with me, and I wouldn't be running from bills or anything... Just woke up this morning and realized I'm tired of living here.. Happens every so often, every few years it seems. This time I want to move to the pacific northwest..

unfortunately I've yet to make the move even though I've gone through the thoughts a couple of times.

Just starting over brand new.. wow the possibilities.

Where do you live now? I'm currently relocating to the Pacific coast, but I'm straight out of college.

EDIT: Just checked profile. IL. I came from OH. I wanted to get the hell out of there. I don't see IL being much better. I say do it?

Moved from East Coast to West Coast to Pacific Northwest and now back on the East Coast.

I"m done moving for now but that may change in the future.

I've been in Houston for 10 years now, and just recently applied for a position (in my current company) either in Colorado or Wyoming. If I get it, I'll be able to move the family out of here. I'm keeping both fingers crossed that it happens.

If you wanna start over, you're suppose to drop your wife and kids too.

All the time, but the places I want to go would require me to speak a different language and I don't have the time to learn one right now.

Did it last year myself.

Lived in Orlando, FL for 14 years. Had enough. Packed up the house and moved to Tennessee.

I've done it about 4 times in my life, though it wasn't just because I wanted to get away. I had opportunities elsewhere, so I'd pick up and move. I've had some of the best times in my life in that process. I think everyone should do it a few times, be it for college, work or just because. It's hard to settle down when you haven't really been anywhere else.

Though I'm relatively settled now, the wife and I are planning on living in India for a few years. That's at least 2 years away though.

My gf has the urge to move out of the U.S. all the time. She has small-town-syndrome, having lived most of her life in a small town and now in a bigger one (same part of the state tho), as well as having been out of the U.S. a couple times. Working in healthcare, she could move about anywhere and have a job; plus right now my job is pretty flexible on location.

I'm not as keen on jumping up and moving, but then again I fear most change.

Not start over but I would like to go back 2 years. I moved back home to Turkey in February 2007 from the U.S. and I don't think I've ever regretted anything as much I did this one :( I moved back home because my family is still in Turkey but they are financially stable, retired, and could have visited me in the U.S. as many times as they wanted. I left all my friends, some of them the best people I have ever met in my life (ie. toekramp here) and moved home. Oh well... and now I am moving to Madrid, so I am getting closer to the U.S. again but it's pretty hard to find a job in the U.S. from half way across the globe.

Yes, I have thought about this many times, even had sort of a "plan". Who knows... could still happen.

I don't plan on staying in this area for my life, I want to try the west coast. Seems more fun than here, and there's a few more perks for the little higher cost ;)

I could almost see moving maybe every 2-3 years. See the whole country from the perspective of actually living there even for a short time.

A recent 2 week trip to SoCal/NorCal gave me the itch this time..

Especially after a trip somewhere.. there's probably a term or name for it I'm quite sure.
