Woah, that IS pretty cool!
I just wonder if VR is bad for the eyes for extended use though. They say it's not good to look at something close for too long, and VR is like basically starting at your hand 2 inches from your eyes non stop. Wonder if there are studies on this.
I read on ars technical that there's still a noticeable 'chicken wire' effect.I imagine for first gen VR headset text legibility is still going to be the biggest issue, maybe with 4k screens it will stop being as much, but the current screens simply have a hard time making text easily read without causing eye strain.

Yeah. My Gear VR looks like a portable DVD player, where you can see the vertical pill-shaped pixels. Video games & stuff looks fine, but if you try to watch something like Netflix, you get eyestrain from trying to look for details but only seeing the screen-door effect. It's going to be a few generations before we get Retina-screen quality in VR, since they're basically already taking a Retina screen & putting a magnifying glass in front of it.
What's the point of this?
My default demo game is Adventure Time (perfect example of how VR can benefit games);
If you watched the video and dont see the point of it I really don't know what to tell you mate, you might be broken in some way.
Looks pretty crappy and superfluous. You might be easily impressed.
