Ever want speakers in a 5.25 bay?

Hah, i'm MSNing that to a buddy (with a Stacker).

He'll get a good LOL outta that.

Looks nice enough.....but how does it sound? The internal speakers I've heard/tried before were pretty bad.....and picked up extra noise from the computer.

Might try these things however....got an extra bay.

Thermaltake has had something like that on the market for quite a few years now (the XSpeaker). It'd go great alongside their stupid "XRay" 5.25" bay cupholder/cigarette lighter 😛. Honestly, a cupholder is probably the last thing I'd want attached to the front of my rig, but that's just me...

That's techie humor - clueless user mistaking the CD tray for a cup holder. Give them the real thing! The cig. lighter power jack can be useful for lots of things. It's hard to imagine any setero coming from that - you're gonna hear mono at best. But I suppose if you have no space for betten that that is preferable to nothing. Won't sell well if at Scythe's typical boutique pricing like that silly Kama Bay fan w/ bracket.

.bh.

They were all beige BITD

HAHAHA, I used about two doezen of those one time building new computers for all of the engineers at the company I worked for about 6 years ago because the bosses thought the engineers were responisble enough to have speakers on their computers but, didn't want to take up any desk space. Wow, were they WRONG we're probably the least mature white collar group around.

I suspect these Scythe speakers will be better than anything similar, and certainly as good as any laptop speaker, or speaker in a monitor. If you move your computer around a lot, and don't use head-phones, this might be the answer.

I have a small set of powered speakers by Creative, made for laptop/travel usage. They sound plenty good to me. These Scythe speakers might be even better. Such a setup requires electrical shielding for internal computer use. Here's hoping....

these speakers probably suck... similar to ultra portable laptops.

i dunno i can't imagine anyone wanting a set of these lol, a pair of headphones are the same weight and sound much better and u get real stereo

1.25" cone speakers? The dome tweeters in my main speakers are about that size...and probably sound better. How could anyone expect anything near "full range" sound from such tiny, tinny speakers? Simple physics.....which is one reason Bose fails on so many levels.....cannot get bass out of 1.25" speakers or even 2.5" cones.

I think you all are missing the point of these things......they obviously won't provide top-grade sounds. But they might give decent enough sound to avoid the hassle of external speakers...or dumb head-phones which can easily affect your hearing.

If you never move your computer, just buy external speakers or hook up to your main sound system. For frequently moved computers, these speakers might be the answer.

Stackers have what 8-9 5.25 slots? Put 8 of these in 1 stacker, you'd have the most ghetto fabulous audio system ever.

You mean the user is dumb if he keeps the volume too high? 😉 Good headphones offer much better sound quality than any speaker set priced at the same level.

Scoop......the use of headphones affects your hearing adversely, no matter the volume. So I say it's dumb to use them if there is an alternative.

That's silly. All volume is is the amplitude of a pressure wave from the speaker to your ear drum. Two sources at the same volume will have the same effect on your hearing.

If people were loosing hearing due to normal use of headphones wouldn't the US courts be filled with cases against headphones manufacturers.

i think these speakers might hurt my ears more than using my headphones

and no, long term headphone usage at moderate levels doesn't affect your hearing
