Ever used a buying service to buy a car (Autobytel, Cars.com)? Please share your experience ...

A few weeks ago I was involved in an accident that totalled my truck. I negotiated a settlement with the driver-at-fault's insurance Co. and went out and bought another vehicle.

Before I went truck shopping I decided to use an Internet buying service (autobytel) and a local service. I ended up paying almost 5% less than the dealership's "rock bottom" Internet price by personally visiting the car lot. Anyone else have a similar story to share?

I can?t say I have ever done this myself, but I do this once a month for some of my customers. They usually don?t have time to go around the countryside inspecting classic Ford musclecars, so for a finder?s fee I will locate and purchase the car of their choice.

I?m glad you had a good experience.
