First one I've seen that kills quotes too.
I find it quite useful :)

Good thing this isn't a call out thread or anything off putting like that.

He name name...

I got about a dozen. If I don't see/hear it, it didn't happen.

Five. None of whom ever seem to post anywhere but "Politics and News" & "Off-Topic", or never post anything useful (i.e., helpful, factual, etc) on any of the substantive sub-forums, anyway, and who as far as I've ever seen have barely/just enough functional brain cells to obtain Internet access and form more or less complete, albeit simple, sentences in English...

I only started using it recently, only have one person on there so far. What's nice about Xenforo is that the ignore feature is somewhat stealth. So you're not tempted to show the post anyway.

It's a bit strange IMO, kinda like not allowing booze or twinkies in the house out of some fear that they would be uncontrollably consumed.

It doesn't take much self discipline to scroll past something without reading it, or in this case, accept what you just read was really dumb and forget about it.

I have been here for a while and not one person is on ignore list. I like to see what posters said, good or bad.

I love that about the new forum. They essentially don't exist. Old forum left a big gap for each ignored post.

Even if someone else quotes their post?

I don't need an ignore feature because even trolls post useful information from time to time, and my brain (while adept at little else :D) is perfectly capable of skimming through and filtering out content.

Trolls just get virtual eyerolls from me. It's not even worth the trouble to block them. Also, sometimes you want to see the response to a troll or user you don't like, and you need the context of their posts to understand the situation (this also applies to politics and history: those who stick their heads in the sand fail to discern reality).

The only truly terrible users are the bots and spammers who get banned, anyway.
