Ever thought you might be crazy?

I was sitting in my room late the other night (please note, I was far from sober), and a few thoughts occurred to me...

- Could it be that I'm crazy, and just don't know it?
- Could it be that EVERYONE is crazy, and they all just hide it when in the company of others?
- Is there anyone that I could definitely, positively say is NOT crazy, since I'm not with them when they're alone at night behind closed doors...
- If I really thought I was crazy, would it be a good idea to seek therapy? I mean after all, one of the worst fates I can think of is being locked away in an asylum for the rest of my life...

I mean, I don't think I'm psychotic or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm more neurotic than the average guy...

What does 'crazy' mean to you?

If crazy is putting your fist through the drivers-side window of a strangers car who cut you off then yea...

If these thoughts occur to you frequently, you may have a mild case of OCD. I have some experience with this as a family member of mine recently went through this ordeal.

Truly crazy people do not think they are crazy. Think about that a bit and it will make sense. ThePresence is correct about mild OCD leading to thoughts like these. It really isn't that big of a deal, usually, just try not to dwell on it.

As for therapists, it's my opinion that they mess people up worse about as often as they help people. So, if you like 50/50 odds, go for it.

I disagree with your comment on therapists. Many times people need someone to talk to in confidence and therapists can be extremely helpful.

If thinking your better than humantiy and that humanities sole purpose is to be enslaved or destoryed is crazy, I do not want to be normal.
