Today is the day I start studying for the CCNA. Taking Network Infrastructure in college; prof says we get an A automatically if we pass the CCNA :)

Exam was easy as hell. Its so basic.

Just read a couple books and practice on the hardware.

Some of the stuff they test you on is common knowledge if you are a computer enthusiast which I assume you are by being on this forum with 2k+ posts ;) Like subnetting, different protocols and so forth.

The IOS stuff and the rest is pretty straightforward too.

When did you take it, I just took it last week... they changed the whole damn thing... they barely asked any questions about Subnetting or the basic routing questions... it was all Supernetting and OSPF and EIGRP...

That test is not as easy as it used to be. Study hard.

I've taken it twice. First time was September 12th 2001 (hard to study the day before that heh...) and again after it expired in Jan 05.

There weren't -tons- of simple questions but you can knock some off quite easy.

Whoo, I've never even heard of supernetting. Oh well, one chapter at a time ;)

I'm using the CCNA Study Guide by Richard Deal. Pretty good book, easy to read. Hard part is retaining everything - it's mostly easy to understand, but you really have to know the stuff to be able to answer questions.

I went through all 8 Cisco Netacad courses. Took the CCNA (back when it was hella easy), and took the CCNP Switching exam. I used some bootleg exam cram eBooks I found on Google/P2P. Realized I couldn't actually use any of this knowledge, and that I hated IT all together, so I gave up on the Cisco crap.

(don't PM me about the eBooks, I don't have them)
