I was out taking a bunch of pictures a few weekends ago, carefully comprising some shots, when I happened to snap this one without looking thru the view finder. Overexposed, not centered, not thirded, blurry, etc... but it is still my favorite i took that weekend by far.

Anybody else got examples of those accidental shots that you really like?

Paul A Wilson's photostream... Thread posted by Pablo Martinez

Care to explain? :D

Oh and by the way, can you explain what all that camera talk means (thirded, centered, etc) to a camera n00b like me? I just bought my first digital camera (sd600) so I guess I should start learning the lingo.

I hate "rules" in photography.

I hate how people will tear apart a great picture quoting all kinds of rules and what they did wrong. When overall the picture is amazing.

A little to much light here, or blur there, or to much contrast can be what makes a picture stand out and be unique and catchy. Thats why I always take pictures for me and no one else. If I like it that's all that matters.

Pablo Martinez is just a nickname. Ask anyone i've traded with.

BTW... where did you get the "martinez" from? I dropped that from my username long ago!

Took this pic of my Italian co-worker while we were riding in an old Mercedes taxicab in Berlin this summer. I just flipped the visor down and took the pic on a whim without really adjusting anything. I think it turned out okay.

put it on a memory card and take it to a CVS, Eckerd, Wal-mart or whatever if you're just looking for a basic print... Not the best quality, but better than your inkjet...
