Ever so slightly OT - Server going down for a few hours

Confused

Elite Member
My server is playing up, so my SetiQueue and Peernode Monitor and web pages will be down for 2-3 hours, while I reinstall Windows 2003 Server.

Depending on when dinner is, I may or may not have the Seventeen or Bust stats done in 1hr's time when they normally run, but you'll see soon enough!

Hopefully everything will be OK and I'll be up and running in a couple of hours or so 🙂

*Crosses fingers*

You could get an evaluation copy for free there for a while. I dunno if you still can. I got a copy of it for my dually but I didn't really like it.

Yup, it's the eval copy.

However, there is no fix for the "Blah blah caused error in Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and this system needs to be shut down"

I'm getting hit with it within 30 secs of hooking up to the internet 🙁

Looks like i'll have to get another copy of XP Pro to put on there instead 🙁

So, server will be out of action for the forseeable future 🙁

Yup, but no fix I could see for the eval edition 🙁

I'll have to see if there's any spare OS's at work from the couple of new machines we've had, and see if I can take one if it's not in use, otherwise I may have to go for the 2003 Eval->Retail thing i've seen around...but i don't really want to do that unless I have to. I had nearly 3 months left on the eval licence, and i would have been fine if it wasn't for this poxy RPC call stuff 🙁
