Ever shoot a hole in one on a golf course?

Yesterday I sincerely thought I had made one! I walked up to the pin, and I saw the ball sitting on the opposite side of the hole, about .5' away from it! AHHHH. It drove me CRAZY!!

Nope, I've played several thousand rounds and still yet to make one. I've witnessed quite a few and had several really close, and have hit the pin many times.

Twice on the same hole at an Executive Golf course our in a rural town. It's the 9th hole, par 3, 150yards. I hit my P wedge PERFECT at that distance, and I've sunk it twice (I play there a LOT though) and planted it right next the cup many times.

It's the easiest hole this side of Scores.

Got a 2 on a par 4 but never a hole in 1.

Once on a par three I shot a 7 iron and the ball landed within a foot of the cup. The reason it was a par three though was because you had to hit off the tee straight across a huge water hazard and 99% of the time it was into the wind. It was quite a trick to get the right angle to have your ball land on the green.

I've never shot a hole in one. I've been close a couple of times (within 1-2 feet).

The best shot I 've ever taken was an 8 iron from 150 yards to the pin (and about 30 yards below me), over a creek and sunk it.

It was a birdie on a par 5.

In my book, that's just as good. I've had a few eagle attempts but I've borked that all with sh*tty putting. My approach shots, OTH, kick butt.

Closest I've ever been is about 7-8 inches from the hole on a par 3. I got lucky on a par 4 once and holed a wedge shot after a rare (for me, at least) great drive that just seem to keep going and going. Come to think of it, two good shots in a row? That really is a rare event for me!

one time i was playing a par 3 ~130 yards up a huge hill where u can't see the hole. I went up the hill and couldn't find my ball so i looked in the hole and there was a ball:Q. But it turns out it wasn't mine, mine had bounced off the green and down the other side of the hill.

In the real world the odds of an avid golfer making an ace in his lifetime is somewhere between 5,000:1 and 10,000:1 depending on skill level

I was playing in a corporate tournament last year and they had one of those prizes that pays $10,000 to the first contestant that makes the hole in one on the 155 yard hole.

My foursome agreed that if anyone hit it we would share it $4,999 to the player who made the shot and $1,667 each for the other three.

I was last in our foursome to tee off and as we watched it land on the green and roll towards the hole we were sure it was going in. It missed the hole by about an inch and stopped 2 1/2 inches behind the cup. I did end up with the closest to the pin award (a new putter). This is the closest I have come to actually hitting a hole in one.
