Ever seen this windows problem before?

Ok, get this. I download a font. I open up control panel -> fonts. I click "file". and the option "Install new font" is NOT FREAKIN THERE. Its on my other computers, its on my friends computers, BUT NOT THIS ONE!

So no I cannot add new fonts. If I just drop them in the directory they don't show up in any programs.
This is Windows 98 SE with Word 2000.

anyone know a fix? or a workaround?

are you sure they are the right extension? maybe win cant recognize them. also, you can just drop them in the fonts folder and restart the comp.

Dam: Yep, they're .ttf, and when you click 'em, they show up in the little font-viewer program.

And no, I can't just drop them in the font directory and reboot. I've done that. No Dice
