Can you boot into safe mode?

Try running "sfc /scannow" from the command line in safe mode if you can.

I don't think you can run sfc in safe mode. You need to be in normal mode or you'll get an error message.

I would almost guess virus or spyware, as several have never seen this before. You might pick up some better replies from the MS lakeys in the OS forum.
