Hi,

I'm not sure if its my motherboard breaking or if its just something w/ Microsoft. I just did a clean install of windows xp + drivers on the system listed below 2 days ago. Its a ATI 3200 Chipset w/ an ALi south bridge. So i installed everything, ran windows update. After an hour, everything that was listed on Windows Update was installed. Just a minute ago i go back to wndows update and notice a new driver it thinks my PC needs. "VIA Primary IDE". WTF? Nothing in my PC is VIA.

Anyone else ever notice Windows Update list the wrong details?

Yep same thing happened to me. I stupidly installed them eventhough i have not had a via chipset for a long time. It was a ULI chipset and it almost hosed my system. I had to use the Last known Good to get it back running. I think Automatic Update is now hosed.
