Ever replace the backlight on an LCD?

Desktop LCD. It's an old Princeton monitor. I found the backlights pretty cheap: http://www.lcdpart.com/doc/ccfl.html

Seriously though, if LCDs are anything like CRTs, then taking them apart and messing with the insides has a high chance of death.
