Ever replace an LCD on a laptop before?

I'm referring to the plastic casing that holds the actual LCD and how did you remove it from each other? It's basically a sandwhich which holds the LCD into place... and more often than not when I change out an LCD sometimes the plastic clips that hold the casing together snap off. Is there a sure fireway to avoid breaking those clips?
