ever received an email with a confidentiality clause?

I am trying to recall what the 'clause' said.

It was either that the content of the email was to remain confidential or it was a caveat that the information was not confidential.

Do you ever get these clauses on emails that you receive? Any idea what yours said?

Is receiving an email acceptance of that 'contract?'

I received an email from a a busines with a similiar disclosure. I want to post it in a forum.

I don't think you can just throw that on an e-mail and have it be confidental. You would have had to agree beforehand.

I am no lawyer and am pulling this out of my ass, just seems logical to me.

I don't think there's anything anyone could do if you chose to post that e-mail, anymore than they could if you chose to air a voice-mail left for you, but meant for someone else...Just opening & reading an e-mail does NOT constitute some kind of "non-disclosure agreement" that would be in anyway binding...
Some fvcking people are just full of themselves, and maybe full of "another substance" as well...

i had this at my bank. But our clients knew it was already confidential to begin with. It was automatically attached to every e-mail we sent that went through the bank's servers.

I work for a large health insurance company and our mail gateway puts a clause on every email that leaves the company.

Its probably the same type of deal as those dump trucks hauling rocks rumbling down the interstate with signs that read.... "We are not responsible for damage cause by objects on the road." At least in Tennessee these signs have proved to be worthless.

Most all e-mails have this clause. I can't remember when I got one that didn't have a disclaimer.

I don't use personal e-mail. It's always down so I don't rely on it.
