they always take decades to boot up again as well :p

The annoying thing is when it's on your own computer and there's no way to disable it. I've poked them by accident before :|. Finally I gave up and put electrical tape over the button (it was slightly recessed, so it made it pretty hard to press accidentally.

wtf is the point of them anyway, i mean who can't click start, turnoff computer, then turn off/restart/standyby or shift then hibernate? :p

We have Standby buttons that we press.
Doesn't shut down the computer, just tries to make it go into Standby and consequently crashes it :D
Reboot is then required, but it takes longer cos you have to hold in power button.

I have power to hibernate, sleep to standby. Too lazy to go to start menu. Hitting the power button is just so much easier.
