I played this last night with about 9 people and it kept us occupied for 3 hours easily. If you are often doing group things you should definitely give it a shot.

Wikipedia link (they explain it better than I could)

We played a very simple version with two mafia members, one doctor that can choose to save someone, and one policeman who is allowed to find out the true identity of any one player via the narrator's visual cues. The mafia chose one kill every night and the narrator could not be killed. This is really fun with a group of people you know really well as it helps to identify who might be lying and such.

I played it at camp once when we were stuck in a barn because of heavy rain and lightning. It's a pretty fun game, although the computer game Mafia is better.

I've played it at random club event things. Pretty fun, though I always die first.

I had a lot more fun playing this than I ever could with a console or two with a large group.

Well if you have a lot of people then the console isn't going to work, but if you have like < 8, console works well. Besides Mafia is more the fun with more people.

Yeah it's fun, not a great icebreaker type of game though..you have to know the people somewhat well to make crazy accusations at each other.

It sucks being a n00b to the group though, as the game is just based on sporadic random guesses, rather than much skill or anything..so it's more of just a social game than anything else.

Played it at a training session for work. Then again part of my job is to come up with recreational games/activities for children so it wasn't really anything new to play games. :D

Pretty fun game, I like it best with about 15 people. The narrator really has to know what they're doing though.

I just don't like the baseless accusations that always fly during the first few rounds of the game. I realize that there really isn't much information to go off of at first, but it seems I always get targeted by the random accusations, which gets annoying.

They're pretty much the same game.

It is tough being the narrator, you have to keep everything straight and be formulating a little story at the same time.
