Only time I did was when I hit 39 and thought about what life would have been like for me then if I had stayed for 20 in the Navy. I can't imagine WTF I was thinking to turn down a $10-15K re-up bonus in 1978. That was a nice chunk of change back then.

Yeah, I turned 55 this year and for some reason it finally hit me that, damm I'm no youngin, I'm an old man. This year was the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, the moon landing, the debut of Sesame St. and many other seminal events that happened in 1969. All the documentaries and specials this summer recalling these events finally drove home the point that time waits for no one. So, yeah,I look in the mirror and say to myself, how the hell did this happen? Even though I still feel like a kid, sometimes I wonder how did I get to be this old?

It took this long to realize your old. I think by the time I'm mid to late 30's I'll begin realizing it.
