Inspired from the 'save someone' thread.

Me first...i near killed an old guy on the train. I was sitting at the edge of a seat
and i guess my foot was kinda stuck out. There was this grandpa..really old, frail man
and he tripped over it and fell !PLOP! onto the floor. It was the most painful thing i
ever heard and he gave out a "..oOOuh..." and didn't move for a while. People stared
at me like i did it on purpose. Me and couple other peeps helped him up and he got off.
I felt soo bad... 🙁

You are a horrible excuse for a human being.

J/K.

I guess I've almost caused a few automobile accidents that could have turned fatal. Does that count?

I was coming over a hill in a department vehicle once after a flash rainstorm. The streets were somewhat flooded, and I was going about 25 mph, but I began to hydroplane, and my speed increased dramatically down the hill. I almost careened into high-speed traffic at a red light. Luckily, I was able to steer off to the side and turn right, but I'm sure I would have caused some life threatening injuries had I hydroplaned into the intersection.

My die-hard Republican parents. I told them in 2000 I was voting Green Party. They still haven't forgiven me. But I mean, it's not like I voted Democrat.
😀

There was traffic on the freeway. I was in the carpool lane and it was free flowing. Basically right of me there is traffic and left of me there is a wall. This STUPID motorcyclist came merging into the carpool lane without looking from the congested lane into the fast flowing carpool lane. I swirved away from him, nearly hitting the wall, because I knew if I hit him it would have been my fault. At least if I hit the wall I would have killed myself instead. Let's just say this all happened in slow motion and my friend and I aged a LOT from this incident.

an officemate got cancer & died (i snagged his chair, BTW).

the next one fell off his bicycle & broke his hip so badly that he eventually had to retire
for medical reasons (after spending 18 fruitless months in rehab).

i haven't had an officemate since.
coincidence?

uhm..maybe i didn't specify clearly enuff...

'no hurt' stories don't count. Nearly hit blah-blah ...duh, nothing happened.
i'm talkin about some REAL hurtin going on ..leading to death or seemingly near death.

I paralyzed a kid from the waist down during a sparring tournement. I think that's one of the worst feelings I've ever had in my life.

i shot at a guy and nearly killed him. just barely missed.
but he wasn't hurt--so i guess that doesn't count.
😉

When I was much younger and dumber I convinced a friend to cook and eat an Amanita muscari mushroom. The North American form isn't usually all that dangerous, but it causes some unpleasant symptoms for a while. In Russia and Europe they are much more deadly and some varieties are hallucinogenic. I didn't know anything about all that at the time though, I was just young and naive and thought it looked good to eat. Now I know a lot more, mostly because of this experience.

I never ate any of it, I wasn't around when the cooking and eating took place, but if I was I would have eaten some too. I can't believe I was that reckless 🙁

My father-in-law drives trucks for a living and we live up in Snowy WNY. Yesterday it was white-out conditions and two cars piled into his truck leading into a 2-death accident. My father-in-law is still alive (he's a pretty cool guy unlike other 'in-law' scenarios) and pretty healthy.

Myself, going down a huge hill on a scout trip. My brothers cheap arse bike's brakes were crap. Did a header going pretty fast started fishtailing in the front. My helmet was cracked up pretty bad, would have been my head.

I almost killed someone by cycling a press on him 20 years ago. This will be the frst time I've ever told anyone.

The machine-repairman should have locked out the press, but I except full responsibility.

The machine didn't cycle because the transfer beams were in the wrong position and I had meant to push another button.

It haunts me to this day.

Well, that plain sucks.
Almost is better than did though.
