I did it a few times last summer. One time this group of 3 bikers were practically taking over the entire lane. I slowed down to 10mph and just leaned on my horn.

Ever do anything to piss off the damn bikers that think they own the road?

No, because my motorcycle can zoom right by them without endangering anyone.

I usually manage to pass them (in my part of Florida it isn't legal for them to go on the sidewalks and we don't have much of mass transit) or at least give a full 2 minutes to move over before I start honking and such.

Bicycles can legally operate in the road and the law in most places basically says that you should stay to the right, must wear a helmet and have reflectors, and can't ride on highways.

One day when you car breaks down OP you might be the guy on the bike.

OP, are you retarded? You're lucky you didnt run them over, because you would be in jail for man slaughter. Most states say that cyclists must obey the motorized laws, and that they are allowed by LAW to ride on any road except highways.

the thing that bugs me is they pretend to make an effort to stay to the right, but they're still two feet from the curb so it makes it impossible to pass when there are cars in the other lane.

they're 2 or more feet from the curb because too many drivers toss crap out their windows; the area close to the curb is often littered with all sorts of little things that bikers don't want to run over.

I just mind my own business and ignore them when it comes to bikers. Most of the time I just mow them down with my car.

They usually aren't annoying unless they take up the middle of the lane or don't bother to obey any rules.

If they are not in the designated bicycle lanes then I might give a tap of the horn if there is heavy traffic in the other direction, but if I can get around them without having to do that then I do.

3 wide is silliness.

However, honking at me when i am trying to stay as far to the right as i safely can is f*cking idiotic :|

It's very difficult to be a biker in cities like where i'm from, as there are basically no bike lanes, & people are idiot drivers who have no respect for me on my two wheels just trying to get around.

i got stuck behind a dude going uphill. couldnt pass as it was a 2 lane road and i wasnt about to go into the other lane into oncoming traffic. he was riding right in the middle and going about 2mph of course trying to wave me to pass. So 5 other cars and I went 2mph uphill waiting for this guy to keel over with all of us honking at him.
Yes guys some bicyclists are dumbasses.

Most of the bikers here runs red lights. I'd say cops should start issuing tickets to these people. If they wanted to be treated as part of the traffic with respect, show some respect to the rules!

The problem with lots of bikers is they don't obey any traffic laws. THey think they are immune to them for some reason. It gives all bikers a really bad name when they do that. Going through stop signs, going through red lights, riding across the lan isntead of in single file so cars can get by, etc. Very inconsiderate and I wish they'd start getting tickets for it.

Agreed. I see them running lights all the time. And they ride 3-4 feet from the curb, which prevents cars from passing.

Personally, they piss me off when they do this stuff. They really shouldn't have the same rights to the road that I do in my car.
When the bikes start having to pay for a license plate, inspection, insurance, property taxes, road use taxes built into gas, etc...then I'll say they have the same rights to the road.
Otherwise, they need to know their place and stay the hell out of the way.

Same goes with the "liquor-sickles" you see riding around. Those little moped-scooter things. The things people buy after they lose their license for DWI.

If they are riding side-by-side in the road then they aren't obeying those laws. Just as 2 motorcycles aren't suppose to be beside each other.

Ride in the damn grass if you hear a vehicle comeing behind you. It's dangerous when tons of traffic are cruising along and have to slam their breaks going around a corner because of a cyclist with on-coming vehicles with no way to pass. Cyclists are just d!cks and won't move off to the side of the road.

Um....no. I know from experience that doing something like that can scare the crap out of the biker and cause them to swerve - possibly right in front of you. I used to ride my bike everywhere when I was younger, and I really hated it when people did that.

On the other hand, *I* am always scared when I come up on a biker, particularly on a road where there are no bike lanes. I'm not blind, but the vision in my right eye is lousy, while the vision in my left is fine. So I can see, but my depth perception and sense of distance are shot. I'm always afraid of hitting them.

I hate the damn bikers around here. I don't mess with them but the majority do some bone-headed stuff.
