Ever hear of a DVD-RW manufacturer named TOP-G from China?

I picked up a DVD-RW drive under the name of MicroAdvantage and the manufacturer is labeled as TOP-G.
I'm only concerned because I'm using Ghost 2003 for backups.

No, but a quick google search reveals a relationship with BTC of Tawain, which is already second tier at best. Personally, I think reputable designer/manufacturers like Hitachi-LG and Samsung are affordable enough that I wouldn't bother with anything questionable.

had bought TopG back in 24xCDR burner days it was quiet..because it was brand nib dead..held off on TopG stuff..got a MicroAdvantage CDRW brand nib 52x(was surprised to see Top G on the drive) tested it..ate up too many cpu cycles and varied its speed all over the place..took it back..grabbed a Memorex boxed drive(was a Liteon inside..no issues with that drive) ..customer was back in business and happy..in essence..TopG..ymwv
<--still using Benq DW800A drives :)

All I really need is a DVD player as I already have enough LITEON DVD burners. Since I used a 25 off 100 on the drive the price dropped to $89.99 - $50 rebate - $25 = $14.99 + $7.20 tx which results at about $22. If it just plays DVDs than I suppose it's ok. If it fails, I'll return it to OM for something else, or just a refund. I don't think I can get burned.
