Highly recommended restaurant... I had a slab of chicken left and she had half a sandwich left (we had a huge sampler/appetizer before)... tell the waiter to get those both to go... he says he'll come back with it... gives us the check after a few minutes... I put down 17% tip... and he comes back to take it and is giving his thank-you, goodbye speech... we ask about the food... he says... oh yes I'll be right out with it... we wait a bit... see him talking to the manager... he comes back and tells my wife they tossed her food accidentally and they'll make a new one for her to go... he comes back and has only her food... umm... whatever... I didn't feel like raising a stink nor did I expect them to make a fresh plate for me ... but... did he just not realize mine was tossed too ?

What a wacked place. The food was only mediocre at best... I wish I only gave a 10% tip...

One time at Damon's I ordered some pasta dish that came with garlic bread. When I was just about done I realized I didn't get my stinkin bread, so I asked about it. The waitress said, "I guess I forgot," and shambled off awkwardly. Never did come back with my bread. I was not happy. I didn't leave a tip

i hate that.

i once purposely ate half of my fetuccini alfredo because well, when you're living in college dorms (which i was at the time), leftover food is good to eat during a study break or whatnot. i politely asked my waiter to wrap it up for me. he said "sure" and instead of giving it to be wrapped, tossed it. :( not only did he do that, he didn't offer me anything in return and i was disappointed. unfortunately, i could not make a big stink about it either as my mother's close friend was taking me out to lunch with her daughter and another friend, and it would just look impolite.

that restaurant since folded, and i still miss my fetuccini alfredo. :(

You guys ask waiters to wrap your food up? I Just ask for a box and put it in to the damn box myself. Jeez, how lazy can you be?

It's expected of most waiters/waitresses and should definitely be done if you expect a tip greater than average.

never had it thrown out, but always forget it at the table when i leave

Had that happen with a few customers. Boy do the other customers get a kick as they see me running out after you into the snow slipping and sliding during winter.

I wait tables and you would be surprised how many people leave leave their to go stuff on the table. About 25% of the people leave their stuff on the table and I cant remember any of them ever coming back for it. I have chased people out the door with their to go orders a few times if I can catch them quick enough.

I wait tables but when I go out to eat I prefer to wrap my own food up. Here is why, I am a germaphobe and I wash my hands like 50 times a shift at work, but many waiters never wash their hands at all. Thats after handling germ laden money and many other things.

I used to chase ppl when I was in the rest. business. and it is amazing how any ppl leace stuff.. hahaha!! I just thought I knew better. Still leaving 2x 1/2 steaks and all the desserts sucked.

But on a lighter note.. the next time I was there, we got our entire $120.00 bill comped.. I found what I thought was a lobster shell in my .. well, my dish of lobster... turned out to be a piece of plastic.. I did not care... I mean, I was not complaining or anyhting... I just did not eat the food... I expected my dinner to be comped, but they insisted they comp the entire meal... sheesh... said many ppl would have make a fuss and sued...

I felt really bad, cause ... well, $120.00 all comped... but we left the waiter a $50.00 bill...
:)
