Ever have to share a car with an old woman?

I'm used to hopping in, turning the key, and going.

However, since we're sharing while she's here for the summer... I now have to adjust:

The seat.
All 3 mirrors (and they're manual, I have to lean over to the passenger side to fix that one)
The STEERING WHEEL (WTF, the wheel shouldn't be in the middle of the damned speedometer. I like to see my gauges from time to time)
and worst of all - she keeps tuning the radio to TALK. And overwriting my presets. Bgdjdfshfdksljgkdfshljgkshjklghurehjgkdfsglskgsldhlkfsdv

I got in the van with dad earlier today. Slapped in the key, turned it, backed out of the driveway. And then as I went to shift out of reverse - I realized "WTF is on the radio. WTF, I can't see my speedometer. WTF, all I can see in the mirrors is sky and back seats. WTF, I'm about 3 feet farther forwards than I should be"

Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's just frustrating. That is all.

Try driving 4 relatives cross-country, all over 85, listening to mindless babble (no radio) about which glue works best for their dentures and getting yelled at for getting close to the recomended speed. No AC because old people like it 100 degrees in the car, and having to stop every 30 minutes because someone has to go #1. AAAARG that was the most boring 20 hours (to and from).

Be glad you dont have to drive her anywhere far away.

When I'm in the driver's seat- shyt happens my way, old ladies or no. Either 98 rock or one of my MP3 CDs will be playing, I will drive however fast I deem appropriate, and I will stop whenever I need gas or food. I don't care if you pee on my seats - they're vinyl. You can just clean it up.

Talk radio > *. I listen to staticy AM stations before I'll put it on FM. It's either on AM, or I turn it off and enjoy the quiet.

Get over it. All those things you describe take less than a minute, probably less than 30 seconds.

That's still 30 seconds of my life that I'll never get back because I'm leaning over to the passenger side adjusting the damn mirror. And then the second I need that mirror, I realize I adjusted it wrong because I was sitting at the bottom of a hill or something.
